FRIENDS 4 DREW

After graduating from South Eugene High School in 2009, Drew Haines was one of only eight girls in Oregon chosen to play Division 1 Water Polo. After many years of hard work and preparation, she left for Cal State University Bakersfield with an athletic scholarship in September.

On January 18, 2010, after completing the first term of her Freshman year, Drew and two of her college teammates were in a near fatal car accident in Los Angeles when their car hit standing water on the freeway and hit a cement guardrail head-on. Unfortunately, Drew broke her back in two places and was nearly paralyzed. She spent four days in ICU and is looking at approximately a month in the hospital.

Sadly, Drew will not be able to continue with the sport and team she loves. She will have to forfeit her athletic scholarship as a result of this accident. Drew's injury is severe and her road to recovery will be a long and painful one. She will be in need of extensive trauma rehabilitation just to get her walking and able to travel back home to Eugene. Unfortunately her family currently does not carry health insurance.

In response, her family and friends are asking you to join us in a benefit to honor Drew to help bring her home to her family, who love and miss her dearly. This event will be a celebration of love, friendship, hope, and our everlasting faith in Jesus Christ... despite this horrible accident we are trusting Him for healing, making Drew healthy and whole once again.

Please join us to make a difference in this young woman's life.

Throughout this site you can support events, donate funds, and check on Drew's daily status on her blog.

Thank you and God bless.
